Media is another rhetorical element, where an author chooses how they want they writing to be presented to their audience. The different ways in which an author can communicate their ideas are: orally, digitally and text. Communicating orally means through speech, which can be a PowerPoint presentation, digitally meaning though an electronic device, which can also be a presentation, or generally online on a blog posts, e-books or articles, and through text, which can be a physical copy of a book, journal, or an essay.
Throughout the semester I was given the opportunity of using all of the different forms of media. All of my writing assignment were presented in a text format (essay), with the final writing assignment being a multi-modal form of assignment, that allowed for the oral presentation of my argument through Microsoft PowerPoint. And this Final Project is allowing me to explore the digital design as anyone in the CUNY system could possible see this project. Conveying my research and content through different mediums (except for the PowerPoint I did not do), allows me to explore the different aspects and advantages of each, and to gain a deeper understanding of how, when or why each is important in its own way.
